An Analysis of the Effect of Government Effectiveness on the Aggregate Level of Entrepreneurial Activities

    Get PDF
A level of entrepreneurial activities is widely considered as one of the key characteristics of economy in the context of economic development. However, empirical evidence and theoretical models failed to achieve a consensus with regard to the mechanism underlying existence of a certain level of entrepreneurial activities. This thesis, based on the extensive matching theory literature, considers a level of entrepreneurial ctivities through the labour market theory. To be more precise, a choice between seeking an employment as a worker or creating a number of vacancies, depending on the individual characteristics, thus becoming an entrepreneur, is considered. Therefore, this ‘mechanism’ is expected to account for a certain level of entrepreneurial activities which exists in the economy. Based on obtained theoretical results, an empirical analysis is conducted in order to empirically support the results

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a new artificial neural network-based position controller for a full-electric injection moulding machine. Such a controller improves the dynamic characteristics of the positioning for hot runners, pin valve and the injection motors for varying moulding parameters. Practical experimental data and Matlab’s System Identification Toolbox have been used to identify the transfer functions of the motors. The structure of the artificial neural network, which used positioning error and speed of error, was obtained by numerical modelling in Matlab/Simulink. The artificial neural network was trained using back-propagation algorithms to provide control of the motor current thus ensuring the required position and velocity. The efficiency of the proposed ANN-based controller has been estimated and verified in Simulink using real velocity data and the position of the injection moulding machine and pin valve motors

This paper discusses the results obtained during the practical characterization of the piezo electric properties of a commonly used carbon fibre. The aim of the investigation was to prepare the grounds for the feasibility of a low cost impact sensor that could be included in any carbon fibre structure (megalithic or thin structure) without interfering the integrity of the actual structure itself. The entire measurement loop as well as the techniques of connectivity of the fibres to the loop is described within. The piezo electric effects and all factors which affect the measurements are reflected in the analysis. The results obtained shown that in normal laboratory conditions the piezo-electric response of a T300 carbon fibre is consistent and directly proportional to the impact applied to the fibre

Variable structure controller for plastic injection moulding system

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the approach to design of combined ANN and PID temperature controller for a plastic injection moulding system. The proposed method is based on integration of a conventional PID (PI) controller and a multilayer ANN. At the initial stage of operation, the ANN is trained in offline mode to approximately identify the dynamic parameters of the regulator optimised in terms of speed of response and overshoot. Under routine operation mode the ANN control structure is responsible for the fast transients whereas PID (PI) controller provides the high accuracy at the steady state condition. The paper focuses on the structure switching mechanism and the influence on the transient accuracy. In order to verify the proposed approach, the control system having various types of heaters has been modelled and simulated in Matlab/Simulink. The data obtained from the experiment verified the developed model and confirmed the results of simulations

An ANN-based temperature controller for a plastic injection moulding system

This paper proposes an approach to an ANN-based temperature controller design for a plastic injection moulding system. This design approach is applied to the development of a controller based on a combination of a classical ANN and integrator. The controller provides a fast temperature response and zero steady-state error for three typical heaters (bar, nozzle, and cartridge) for a plastic moulding system. The simulation results in Matlab Simulink software and in comparison to an industrial PID regulator have shown the advantages of the controller, such as significantly less overshoot and faster transient (compared to PID with autotuning) for all examined heaters. In order to verify the proposed approach, the designed ANN controller was implemented and tested using an experimental setup based on an STM32 board

New theory of rock massif fragmentation by using explosion energy

    Get PDF
Purpose. Ore mining involves the destruction of large volumes of hard rocks, which requires preliminary fragmentation by using drilling-and-blasting operations. Therefore, special attention is paid to the improvement and development of new methods for calculating the parameters of drilling-and-blasting operations that will improve the indices of drivage and stoping operations [1, 2]. The application of emulsion explosives, which are absolutely safe for transportation and storage, environmentally friendly as well as cost-effective [3-7] is another way of improvement of blasting technology. Therefore, at present moment, one of the main problems of mining production is increasing the efficiency of the rock massif fragmentation by using explosion energy. Methodology. The creation of a new theory of rock breaking by an explosion around the charging cavity has been performed with the application of well-known laws of the theory of elasticity and the basic provisions of the quasistatic-wave hypothesis of the mechanism of solid medium breaking under the action of an explosion

Features of Conclusion of Electronic Transactions Requiring a Notarial Certificate

The urgency and urgent necessity to develop a research topic are due to a number of factors. First of all, the legal community unanimously reached a consensus on the necessity to reform the institution of notaries in the direction of expanding the powers and functions of public and private notaries, increasing the requirements for these participants in the context of the procedure of certification of transactions (contracts) in various fields. The reform of the Ukrainian notary has recently exhausted its potential and positive expectations on the part of civil society, which is only complicated by the progressive situation with the spread of acute respiratory infections caused by the COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 virus. The purpose of this article was to objectively outline the existing problems in the field of law enforcement, related to the peculiarities of electronic transactions that require notarization, with the formulation of author's proposals to improve legislation in this area. The study was conducted using a number of general and special methods, a key role among which was played by comparative legal and statistical-prognostic methods, which were used to thoroughly analyze the current state of affairs in the field of electronic certification of transactions by notaries. As a result of the study, the authors concluded that in the development of the global information society and digital economy, the issue of electronic transactions requiring notarization needs further involvement of both theoretical and scientific research, as well as the development of practical solutions and proposals to improve the electronic interaction system. Keywords: Transaction, a notary, the notary, notarized transaction, digitalization

Experimental methods for determining a performance index of explosives are analysed: the methods of a ballistic pendulum, ballistic mortar, a lead block, and according to the volume of soil explosion funnel. It is defined that the determination of a performance index of emulsion explosives (EE) involves a set of significant features connected with a large critical diameter requiring the experiments with large-mass charges and resulting in refusal from the traditional methods of determining a performance index. Analytical methods for calculating an index of relative performance of explosives are analysed. Determination of the performance indices of explosives with the help of analytical methods helps identify considerable differences in the calculation results; in case of emulsion explosives the results are erroneously low at all. It is since analytical methods do not consider the brisant action of emulsion explosives. This paper represents the developed methodology of determining a performance index of explosives according to the degree of detonation velocity. The proposed methodology considers the key energy and detonation characteristics of explosives: heat and volume of the explosion products, density (thickness), and detonation velocity. The use of analytical methodology for calculating a performance index for all explosive types makes it possible to get correct results that are necessary for designing the parameters of drilling and blasting operations.U radu su analizirane eksperimentalne metode kojima se određuje indeks učinkovitosti eksploziva: metoda balističkoga klatna, metoda balističkoga mužara, Trauzlova proba i metoda određivanja volumena kratera od miniranja u tlu. Predložena metodologija razmatra ključne parametre energije i detonacijskih svojstava eksploziva: toplinu i volumen produkata eksplozije, gustoću (promjer) i brzinu detonacije. Korištenje analitičke metodologije izračuna indeksa učinkovitosti kod svih vrsta eksploziva omogućuje dobivanje točnih rezultata potrebnih za određivanje parametara bušenja i miniranja
